ARTIST
STATEMENT
As an artist with a background in architecture, I explore the relationships between nature and human-made structures.
I use the combination of architecture and painting as a tool to examine the complex relationships between the development of civilization, the environment, and the evolution of architectural form.
Human figures appear rarely and function as accents, making the space read more sharply. At the core of this approach lies the idea of escapism — the creation of a visual refuge, a place of solitude and stillness, free from material noise.
My practice is a search for balance between nature and geometry through the elimination of the superfluous: landscape is reduced to pure structure and becomes a visual refuge, a metaphor for inner experience.
In my pursuit of uniform, uninhabited landscapes and a timeless environment, I draw on the image of an ideal, harmonious city — a place shaped by the strict laws of composition and formal purity.
